 Star Trek at its absolute best! January 2, 2009
The Destiny trilogy is the pinnacle of ST novels, combining a suspenful storyline including a REAL Federation-wide threat(for the first time ever in ST literature, no character is safe!) with fantastic characterization for established and new characters.br /br /Ever since the Star Trek novel line re-alligned in 2000-2001, the novels have kept a consistant continuity (which still allows readers to "jump in" in jus about every novel, without confusion), and the Destiny trilogy is the culmination of those last few years of stories. Don't be alarmed, though. You don't need to read every Trek novel out there to understand it all - far from it: These books provide ALL the information you'd need.br /br /In closing, the entire trilogy is a top-notch work from Star Trek's greatest novelist today!

This is an excellent ending to the series it sheds light on why they Borg do what they do. I cant wait for the next books to see the fall out of what happens.
 A New Beginning for the Star Trek Universe December 18, 2008
I've read ST Novels for a while though I'm pretty selective about it. I haven't read many of the other multi-part series too much, so I may be missing some points here and there. br /br /To me, Star Trek: Destiny as a whole took Star Trek novels (and the expanded universe) in directions I would have never expected. Most of the books I have read are stand alone stories where the ST Universe pretty much remains static at the end OR the Khan books which provide background into some old characters history. br /br /Star Trek: Destiny as a whole felt like some of the recent Star Wars series (New Jedi Order, Legacy of the Force) where there are major threats and changes to the universe. br /br /All in all, all three books in the ST: Destiny series were good reads Lost Souls is a good conclusion to the three book arc. It will be interesting to see how the books following ST: Destiny will go. br /br /This whole series is recommended. I read all three books in about 1 1/2 weeks.
