Kia Stanton and Chase Falladay have an agreement. Their relationship is based on pleasure, ONLY PLEASURE. Passions flare in Lora Leigh's latest Bounds Hearts installment and that's just in the first chapter! br /br /Kia Stanton has spent the last couple years of her life trying to overcome the stigma forced upon her when she trusted the wrong person about her knowledge of `The Club'. After suffering an almost rape at the hands of her husband, Kia knows that she shouldn't have mentioned anything about the club but will do her best to cover up her blunder, as promised to a certain twin investigator. He in turn will make sure that her husband never tries to touch her again. True to his word, Kia is now divorced. However, loneliness eats at her. The endless process of society parties and dancing can't tame the wildness that courses through Kia every time she sees the man that came to her rescue two years ago, Chase Falladay. His dark hair and green eyes promise so much pleasure, and Kia grabs on to that promise with both hands, never realizing that the man she used to hate has become the man she trusts to give her pleasure unlike any she has ever known. br /br /Chase Falladay watches Kia Stanton as she struggles to make a life for herself. More and more he is troubled as he watches the toll it is taking on her. When they meet up by chance in a bar, he offers her the one thing he does best - give pleasure. Kia wants Chase Falladay. She knows his stipulations, and she gladly accepts the pleasure he offers. Is that enough for her? No, not really. Is she willing to stick around long enough to see where their feelings stand with each other? Yes, she is. By the books end, nothing is more important to Kia than Chase. Full of forgiveness for a harm done to her, Kia stands out in my mind as one of Ms. Leigh's strongest and best written heroines. br /br /Chase Falladay - just the name makes me shiver. I loved every inch of this enigmatic man. His yearning for Kia lasted years - years in which he could do nothing but watch her with her now ex-husband. Knowing that one day she would be his, Chase bided his time for the chance to finally stake his claim. A most worthy hero, Chase has a steadfast loyalty and love - although he tried to deny the last - toward Kia which just made him sexier in my eyes. While he doesn't treat her with kid gloves, he treats her respectfully and his touches were just a fraction of the sensuality this man contains. br /br /The sensuality and eroticism of ONLY PLEASURE is over-the-top hot and craftily written. I must warn you that this book is realistic to the point of making me sweat. And I mean that in a really, REALLY good way! So ladies, grab a long cool drink before you begin the first page and get ready to luxuriate in the overall experience of reading this highly emotional, insanely scorching, and truly outstanding novel. Chase Falladay promised to protect her then, and he did, helping to quell the worst of the gossip.br /br /Kia has never stopped thinking about Chase - and not only because of how he helped her. She's had more than one fantasy starring the sexy private investigator. Now Chase is back in her life and she has the opportunity to live those fantasies.br /br /Chase wants Kia more than he has ever wanted any woman. That's what scares him most. He has tried to stay away, but when the opportunity arises to experience a night of pleasure with her, he can't resist. But what they have can only be pleasure - never more, he promises himself. Soon, however, ONLY PLEASURE isn't nearly enough.br /br /For years, fans of Lora Leigh's BOUND HEARTS series have heard about Kia Stanton, the woman who let the cat out of the bag, so to speak. This is the woman who fired the rumors about the men of The Club and their extreme sexual practices. Much like the other characters in these stories, we've assumed much about her motivations, believing them to be motivated by vengeance or maliciousness.br /br /In ONLY PLEASURE, we finally see Kia Stanton's side of the story. We learn about the unforgivable betrayal her husband perpetrated upon her, betraying her trust in the worst way. After plying her with alcohol, he tried to trick her into allowing an additional man in their bed without her agreement or foreknowledge. It's no wonder that Kia spun a little out of control at first - what woman wouldn't seek support from her closest friend after such a horrific scene? Unfortunately, the story didn't stop with Kia's friend, and that's where the trouble really grew.br /br /Of course, if it weren't for all that trouble, Chase Falladay wouldn't have needed to step into her life to do damage control and help her through the mess, protecting her from the gossip and from her ex-husband. That proximity brought out feelings of protectiveness in him for the lovely little divorcee, though he stifled them for years.br /br /For all that he is a strong, determined Alpha-male type, Chase can only hold out for so long. He denies his feelings for Kia for a while, but they soon get the best of him. Although that may be a little misleading - he knows he has feelings for Kia, but he believes her to be too fragile to handle what he would need from her long-term. And there are the repeated tragedies in his past regarding people he cared about to make him hesitant to get close to her as well.br /br /For Kia's part, she's willing to give Chase anything he asks for - up to a point. After enjoying a few nights of unbridled passion with him, she realizes she can't handle more nights of ONLY PLEASURE with Chase - she needs much more from him. In true ornery Alpha-male style, though, the harder she pushes him away, the more he comes around. You've gotta love it... *grin*br /br /Romance readers who love a dominant, tortured, panty-ripping hero will adore Chase Falladay and won't be able to help being a little jealous of the lucky Kia, regardless of how likable she is. ONLY PLEASURE is a wild ride into eroticism balanced with an equal measure of pure romance.
