Great size for small hands, maybe not sturdy enough for heavy clickers December 31, 2008 I bought this some time ago for both my notebook and desktop because I liked the shape and size; the cord length for desktop wasn't a problem since my keyboard has USB ports--the length is JUST FINE for actual laptop use unless your USB port is on the side opposite your mousing hand. After a few months, the left button no longer worked. Perhaps it's because I used it heavily between two computers, but that's all there is to it. I'd give it 2.5 stars for good design but iffy durability.
Nice little mouse, but BEWARE short cord length! December 28, 2008 I use this mouse for my notebook and while the Logitech SetPoint software is not as robust as MS Intellipoint software, the mouse does its job, and does it comfortably. However, BEWARE some notebook PCs (not including mine, thankfully) have USB inputs on the LEFT-HAND SIDE ONLY! And since this mouse only has approximately a 2ft cord length, it can severely limit motion for all us right-handed folks. While two feet might sound like a sufficient length, it really is shorter than it sounds.br /br /I recommend this mouse if your notebook PC has USB inputs on the right. Otherwise, you may want to search elsewhere.
Perfect for what it does November 2, 2008 If you're looking for br /br /a) a gaming mouse, br /b) a mouse with all the latest doo-dads (hyperscroll, microscroll, side buttons, etc.), br /c) a standard-sized desktop mouse, br /d) a supersmall portable notebook mouse, br /e) a mouse with a greater than 2 foot USB cable attachment, br /f) a mouse that will connect to a computer whose USB port is more than 2 feet away from your mousing hand, br /g) a cordless, wireless mouse, br /h) highly contoured, right-hand specific mouse,br /br /THEN THIS IS NOT THE MOUSE FOR YOU.br /br /This mouse has: left mouse button, right mouse button, side-tilting scroll wheel which is also a third button that can be pushed down to activate zoom. That's it.br /br /I use this mouse with my notebook which I use as my main computer. The notebook is on a rolling shelf which extends from a tiny, cramped armoire. The short cable is perfect for me and I don't mind it at all, although I am fortunate in that the USB ports on my notebook are on the side on which I mouse. A longer cable would only get in the way.br /br /Side buttons (forward, back) would've been great, but I tried other models that had this feature and they were all bad fits for me. I ended up returning an MX400 for instance (Amazon is great about returns).br /br /The scroll wheel is the best of the Logitech line as far as I'm concerned. It feels high quality and doesn't require excessive pressure to activate the zoom. I personally love the side tilt scroll on the wheel and use it all the time. I had a lot of trouble activating scroll-wheel zoom on the MX400.br /br /This mouse feels just great in my hand. It has a narrower "waist" just below the middle that I find really comfortable to hold. The size is also perfect for me. I use a "claw" style hold on my mouse rather than moving my whole arm. My hands are pretty large but I actually prefer this size mouse to the standard sized desktop mouse. I find the smaller size gives me greater control with less effort.br /br /It's not one of those tiny ultraportable notebook mice though, so that might be a concern for some. I personally have no difficulty sticking this mouse into my laptop bag and toting it around with me.br /br /I've had it for about a month but so far, no issues. It's been very durable and consistent so far. Of course, I'm not a gamer, I use this for working in Word, Excel, Firefox, Acrobat, and that's about it.br /br /Best of all, it's cheap, so I won't feel bad if it somehow gets damaged. The other expensive, fancypants mice all seem to have issues over time. The wireless signal cuts out, the hyperscroll wheel stops spinning freely due to crud buildup, the buttons are hard to activate or wear out over time, etc. I'm speaking from both experience and reading the forums over at Logitech as well as other Amazon reviews.br /br /Great mouse, after lots of research and searching, I think this is the mouse for me, and maybe for you too.
Great mouse for the price. September 4, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this for my wife to use on her laptop. She has small hands so this was a perfect mouse. It tracks well and has a short cord which stays out of the way. If you want one for your desktop system get something else as the cable is VERY short.
I'm returning this mouse today August 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
First of all I would like to say that the mouse worked the first time without a hitch. However, there are two problems with this mouse.br /br /1) The USB cable on it is not long enough to plug into the left side of a laptop (a lot of laptops have USB ports on the left side-like my Compaq Presario). It cannot plug into the left side of the laptop and then extend around the laptop for use on the right side of the machine. For anyone who is right handed you have to put the cable directly underneath the laptop...and then there is barely enough room for the mouse to move around. So if your machine has a USB port on the left side of the machine, and you are right handed, forget this mouse. It's unbearably tight. br /br /2) It is too small for an average hand. My hands are average size. Holding the mouse creates a side to side tension in my hand because I have to 'cuddle' the mouse to hang on to it. I'm sure that after several more days of use I would have a problem with my hand/muscles.br /br /I recommend this mouse only for children or people with very small hands and who have a USB port on the front or right side of their laptop. Otherwise, forget it.br /br /I further cannot understand why Logitech would fail to mention these unusual features on the product packaging. br /br /Shame on them for misleading the buyers.
