Love This CD Player January 8, 2009 br /I had a 5-CD changer many years ago, but sadly it didn't want to play any more. I looked at several different stores in the Minneapolis area and could not find the same type of player. I tried Amazon.com just to look and see if they may have it, and sure enough--there it was and at a fantastic price. Super quick delivery too. I'm very happy with my new player.
Sony 5-CD Changer Player January 7, 2009 I'm very satisfied with this purchase due to excellent price and quality of the product. Your website is very easy to navigate.
Sony Player December 29, 2008 The player arrived quickly was sealed, new and so easy to hook up. Plays great without any problems. I will definitely order again. Thanks!
Defective remote system December 28, 2008 Despite many reviews not favorable, I purchased this unit to replace a similar Sony unit I purchased in 1992 that had quit working. I was satisfied for the first few uses but after several weeks the remote quit working. I replaced the factory provided batteries to no avail. This is a new problem not mentioned in other reviews. I will not replace this with a Sony. Their quality level seems to be decreasing lately. I had similar problems with a Sony TV and replaced it with a better, cheaper Samsung LCD. John H.
Very pleased December 25, 2008 I bought this changer locally after my Marantz no longer recognized disks. As far as I know and can hear, there is no difference among CD players/changers in terms of fidelity and quality of sound. Perhaps I am wrong, but all use the same laser technology and have similar specifications. I have had the Sony for about 3 weeks, find the sound to be excellent and have had no problems with playing disks and using the remote. Whether it continues to function well after many years remains to be seen, but my $90 Technics lasted over 10 years, longer than the more expensive Marantz. I am very pleased and I was willing to pay a bundle for Revel speakers where I could actually hear the difference in quality!br /Update 12/29: The player didn't recognize CD's that I copied and burned from the local library-CD-R's, very frustrating. Turns out some changers don't recognize some of these CD's. So I returned it, got a Marantz CC 4001 which cost substantially more but plays the CD's. Do I hear a difference with the higher end player? No, but it plays my music and I have a 3 year warranty on a machine which will likely hold up better.
